It’s not a secret that Balakrishna’s ‘Lion’ opened to mixed reviews and the only saving graces for the film are the mountain of Balakrishna’s fans, the summer vacation and the weekend. Almost all the Telugu websites and tabloids gave mixed reviews but a popular Tamil website gave ‘Lion’ the poorest of reviews.

By giving ‘1 star’ to ‘Lion’, the website has earned the wrath of Balayya’s fans and they are demanding the Tamil film news website to stop writing Telugu Film reviews. They dare the website to write similar reviews for Tamil movies when they dared to rate Balakrishna’s movie with a single star.
Here comes into comparision the review the website published for superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘Lingaa’ movie. ‘Lingaa’ was given 2.5 stars by the website while the actual performance of the movie at ticket windows had been far more pitiable compared to ‘Lion’s reception by people. Both Rajni and Balayya played larger than life roles who did unrealistic stunts but couldn’t meet the hype.
Interestingly, Rajni and Balakrishna have been targetted by some online community and a lot of jokes on their larger than life image are in vogue till date. There is no denying to this fact. Balayya’s fans feel, the website gives better ratings for even under-rated Tamil films but targets Telugu films which aren’t really that bad comparitively. Well, do you think they’ve got a point?
