Social media is agog with tributes to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), the most revered and celebrated actors the industry has produced. On this day, Balakrishna offered his prayers at NTR Ghat where NTR’s memorial is there.
While social media is flooded with NTR legendary tales and tributes, Megastar Chiranjeevi too paid tributes and made a special appeal to the Indian government on Twitter. Chiranjeevi in a special note calling NTR as legend, doyen of Telugu cinema, requested that he should be conferred Bharat Ratna for his immense contribution towards Telugu cinema.
Chiranjeevi also cited an example of noted singer and composer Bhupen Hazarika who was conferred Bharat Ratna posthumously. Likewise, NTR should also be conferred the award, stated Chiranjeevi in his note. Chiranjeevi also said that NTR’s 100th birth anniversary is nearing and conferring him the Bharat Ratna award would not only make Nandamuri fans but Telugu audience ebullient with pride.
It is worth mentioning that while the stars have always been supportive of one another, Mega fans and Nandamuri fans have been at loggerheads engaging in online war with verbal abuses having political differences too. Amidst this, Chiranjeevi’s demand for Bharat Ratna is an unexpected move by Nandamuri fans.
Meanwhile, NTR Ghat on this day would have been occupied with Nandamuri family members offering their prayers. However with the lockdown only Balakrishna was spotted while other family members are offering tributes at their respective homes. Meanwhile, Balakrishna had starred in the NTR Biopic which was made in two parts.
