The state bifurcation is also going to have its effect on Nandi Awards which are given for excellence in Telugu Film industry. Nandi Awards are issued to the eligible on Ugadi day every year. The next Awards eve will be the Golden Jubilee year for Nandi Awards. But looks like it may not happen now. With the state bifurcation, both the state governments have completely ignored forming Jury and committees to screen the films and decide the awards.
There are even rifts within the film chamber as well as Telangana film makers want to divide the existing film chamber on the lines of the state bifurcation principles. In the wake of this issues, there are several unexplained issues like which government will give this awards, which state Chief Minister will be the Chief Guest etc. Even though, the awards event take place there will be issues like which already divided the state.
Some of the Cine Pundits say Telangana government may opt for their own awards which will be given to Telangana born artists and technicians. They will be doing that under a different name and on a different occasion. Unless Andhra Pradesh government takes up the awards, more less the last presentation ceremony of Nandi Awards already happened.
