In the wake of new COVID-19 variant, Omicron causing Havoc in Europe, Telangana Government has become alert. The State Cabinet meeting is happening tomorrow and will discuss the possible restrictions that needs to be taken as precautionary measure.
Buzz is that the cabinet may impose restrictions on Film Theaters, Pubs, and Malls besides making Quarantine mandatory for those coming from abroad. If the 50% limit in occupancy of theaters is imposed, it will be a big problem for Balakrishna’s Akhanda releasing on December 2nd.
It may also force the postponement of the other big films lined up for the next couple of months. If Telangana Government imposes restrictions, it may also trigger similar panic measures from the neighboring Andhra Pradesh. The Government there is anyways in no mood to take the concerns of Film Industry into consideration.
Telangana Government is the last state to impose any restrictions during the time of COVID Second Wave. It should unlikely to be the first this time. Even the states like Maharashtra and Kerala have not imposed any restrictions so far. So fingers crossed for Tollywood right now.
