Biggest Hurdle For Salaar Is Not Dunki?

Salaar MovieThere are strong speculations that the elections of the Telangana assembly will be held on 16 January 2024. There is also a rumor in political circles that the Andhra Pradesh elections will also happen around the same time. This can affect the release of “Salaar” in a big way.

Industry insiders are concerned that elections during the December-January period may keep the public preoccupied with politics, potentially impacting the opening weekend box office collections of “Salaar” in the Telugu states.

Despite past successes like “Legend” and “Race Gurram” released during elections, this time, the elections are expected to be fiercely competitive and garner heightened interest.

The impact of the elections isn’t limited to “Salaar” alone; Sankranthi releases like “Guntur Kaaram,” “Hanuman,” “Eagle,” and others could also be affected by the election fervor in the Telugu states.

Salaa is already facing a clash with the much-awaited Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki which would dent its collections in the North. If the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh elections further dampen “Salaar’s” collections, it might face an uphill battle at the box office.

Salaar is one of the most promising films of Prabhas post-Baahubali. The film presents him in a macho avatar that his fans love to see. A lot is riding on the film. The makers still have time to think and reschedule its release to a much better date.
