The teaser of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s ambitious historical drama Bimbisara is out. It is made on a grand scale with massive visual effects. However, it comes with a twist in the tale that further generates intrigue.
The grand visuals and the setting instantly register in our minds when we watch the teaser first. We have seen some of them (the shots) before, and that’s where the voice-over related to the king and sword do the trick. They add intrigue to the proceedings. Kalyan Ram plays the ruthless king, and his battles are executed grandly.
There is finally a modern-day twist at the end when we think that is all. It leaves one with a lot of excitement and questions in mind. Given that this is only a teaser for Bimbisara, it is better to have doubts than show all the cards.
Vashist writes and directs Bimbisara. He has picked a grand subject to make his arrival on the scene, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store. The choice of music director, Santhosh Narayanan, is also good. His impact is already felt in the teaser itself.
