Prior to the release of Dasara, we wrote a report on how Nani could open a new record for tier 2 heroes by clocking the elusive double digit – Rs 10+ Cr opening.
Well, this has turned out to be the case with Dasara now as the film has posted stupendous revenues on its opening day in the Telugu states.
As per the latest box office figures, the film has collected Rs 13.50 crores in the Telugu states on the opening day.
Dasara has now set a new all time record in terms of openings for tier 2 heroes. And not just that, it has done so by a pretty substantial margin. Nani hasn’t just opened the double digit mark but has bettered by a very good margin.
Dasara will be the new benchmark for tier two heroes and bettering it would take some doing. The film has expectedly wrecked havoc in the Nizam region.
In the USA, the film has collected $845K till now and it will be hitting the coveted $1 million mark by this Friday.
Other films like Liger and Uppena narrowly missed on the Rs 10 crore opening and now, Dasara has hit the bullseye in some style by registering Rs 13.5 crore opening.
