Bollywood finally heaved a sigh of relief as Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s fantasy drama, Brahmastra, is going great guns at the ticket windows across the globe. The film earned a massive gross of nearly Rs 150 crore net in two days. The advance bookings for the film for Sunday are super solid in all major cities in the country, especially for the 3D version.
Despite poor ratings from a section of Bollywood and South media, Brahmastra’s box office performance is quite shocking for a few media platforms and critics. Surprisingly, the websites which gave a 1-star rating for the film are not even rectifying their mistakes by posting the box office figures.
Compared to the North, South media is far better as many critics are accepting the fact that the film is doing well at the ticket windows and posting the figures.
On the other hand, a gang has been doing unwanted Hungama on social media for the past few months, calling for the Boycott of Bollywood. Even before the release of Brahmastra, they did the same, but after witnessing the collections of Brahmastra, they suddenly disappeared.
Some of them have even moved on from #BoycottBrahmastra to #BoycottPathaan, a film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
