Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi hit the marquee today. The day before the release, it saw phenomenal advance bookings, both at domestic and overseas markets.
The film has now beaten Pawan Kalyan. Brand Sekhar Kammula has trumped Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab at the US market. Love Story has grossed $306K mark from the US premiere shows, while Vakeel Saab had stood at $300K. Love Story witnessed the biggest ever opening for a South Indian film in 2021 up to now.
At number one it is Love Story, followed by Vakeel Saab, then Master with $138 and then Jathi Ratnalu in fourth place with $132 mark.
The openings have been fantastic but the talk and reviews are not on expected lines. Although it sees competition, how the movie fares at the weekend is to be seen.
The entire industry is looking at Love Story, hoping that the movie brings back more footfalls at the screens. But family audiences are still reluctant to step out given the pandemic grip. So the weekend will give us a fair idea how the movie performs.
