Vijay Deverakonda is pinning hopes on his upcoming theatrical outing, The Family Star which appears to be a perfect summer family entertainer. But there are two challenges for the film to overcome and these two sizeable challenges. While one is the forthcoming IPL season, the other is the election fever.
The IPL season is commencing on the 22nd of March and it will hit an important phase by April. Then comes the Andhra Pradesh election fever which has already peaked and will take full flow by the first week of April.
With the reports suggesting that the AP polls could be held in the first or the second week of April, it happens to be seen how the Vijay Deverakonda starrer, which is slated for release on April 7 will tackle this.
The IPL factor is a small one and might not eat much into the box-office prospects of Family Star. But the elections on the other hand, are a huge deal and with the polling likely to be scheduled in close vicinity to Family Star’s release date, the Vijay Deverakonda starrer faces a stiff challenge.
But the entertainment quotient of the film pairs with the chemistry of Vijay D and Mrunal, then Family Star should be able to pull through. We have to see how things turn out as there is less than a month for the release.
