chhaava BJP 500 Cr Film

There was once a time when the Hindutva groups up north primarily led by the BJP outfit, used to lap up films. They used to selectively nurture certain age, agenda films that worked in their favour.

The same happened in the past in the case of the Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story. These films largely ran with the support of the BJP groups up North.

Cut to now, there appears to be another new film that is in line to work the Hindutva sentiment and it is Chhaava which is releasing on February 14.

This film is a biographical action tale based on the life of revolutionary Chatrapathi Sivaji Maharaj. It has Vicky Kaushal in the central role and Rashmika Mandanna in other lead role.

The trailer looked really promising and considering the kind of brilliant performer that Vicky is, we can expect the film to be at least of a minimum guarantee quality. If it’s better than that, it’s going to be a bonus.

This film has a strong Hindutva wave going its way considering the kind of sentimental value that Chatrapathi Sivaji has amongst the Marathas. On top of that, it essentially promises to be a strong Hindu flavoured film against the Islamic regime that ruled India in the past.

By the looks of it, Chhaava has every box ticked to be a proper Hindutva driven film. With external support, it might aim at the Rs 500 crore mark globally. This is in considering of the fact that a virtually faceless Kashmir Files itself did Rs 250 crore back in the day. At this rate, 500 crore is not too much for this Vicky Kaushal starrer now.

If the core emotion of Sivaji saga works out, then the film has very good prospects going its way.
