Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth box office clash

2026-27 could witness an interesting box-office battle between two legends of Indian cinema. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Superstar Rajinikanth are reportedly set to face each other not once, but twice across two major festive seasons.

The first clash is expected during Dasara 2026. Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is scheduled for October 15, while Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is being lined up for October 16. With just a day between the two releases, the clash is already generating interest among fans and trade circles.

The competition could continue during Sankranthi 2027. Chiranjeevi’s Mega 158, directed by Bobby Kolli, is being planned for the festive season. At the same time, Rajinikanth’s Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan, is also reportedly targeting Sankranthi.

If both plans materialise, Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth could end up clashing twice within a few months. With Chiranjeevi having a strong market in the Telugu states and Rajinikanth enjoying huge fan support, both battles could be interesting at the box office.
