Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara has officially moved to a Summer 2026 release. The film was initially very promising, but the teaser’s poor VFX led the makers to rethink the timing.
By the time the teaser released, the production had already invested around 200 Crores. OTT and other business deals for the film remain delicate, making the delay a complicated but necessary decision.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi began shooting Anil Ravipudi’s film, which is set to release for Sankranthi 2026. Delaying Vishwambhara ensures that both films do not clash and can maximise their individual business potential.
If the VFX for Vishwambhara is improved and Anil Ravipudi’s film succeeds, the OTT and other business offers for Chiranjeevi’s film will be stronger. This will also give the producers breathing space to recover their investment.
Although UV Creations will face a significant interest burden due to the delay, it is seen as a wise decision for both films. Special glimpses for Chiranjeevi’s birthday are scheduled, with Vishwambhara releasing its glimpse today and the Anil Ravipudi film following tomorrow.
