Hrithik Roshan is making a comeback with Vikram Vedha to big screens after the blockbuster hit WAR in 2019. The film is a remake of the Tamil cult film with the same title starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.
Saif Ali Khan is playing Madhavan’s role, while Hrithik is Vedha, played originally by Vijay Sethupath. Because of the remake factor, comparisons are inevitable. South cinema fans feel that Sethupatthi immortalized Vedha’s character with his intense performance and unlimited swag. They feel that Hrithik can never match the aura of Sethupathi as Vedha.
On the other hand, Hrithik fans are defending by saying if Hrithik can mesmerize the audience in the Agneepath remake where he took on legendary Amitabh Bachchan’s role, then Vedha’s role is like child play to him. They are also saying that Hrithik isn’t copying Vijay in the film but giving it his own spin.
These unfair comparisons sometimes create unnecessary negativity for the film, ultimately affecting its BO performance. Hrithik is a capable actor, and under the guidance of Pushkar and Gayatri, who also directed the original, Hrithik should come out with flying colors.
