Coolie Hindi Title

Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to make a thunderous return to the big screen with Coolie, one of the most anticipated pan-India releases of 2025.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the high-octane action entertainer is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14, across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

However, the film’s Hindi version recently found itself at the center of an unexpected controversy — over its title. The makers had initially renamed the Hindi version Majadoor, triggering instant backlash across social media.

Netizens didn’t hold back. Memes exploded online, with users dubbing Majadoor “the most trolled Indian film title ever.”

Fans slammed the title for its “B-grade vibe,” calling it outdated and lacking the massy punch associated with the name Coolie. Now, in a much-welcome course correction, the makers appear to have listened to the audience’s backlash.

According to the latest reports, the Hindi version will now be officially titled Coolie: The Powerhouse.

A new poster marking “50 Days to Go” has also been unveiled with this revised title, locking it in.

Let’s face it — whether you call it Coolie, Coolie: The Powerhouse, or anything else, it’s the word Coolie that resonates and carries the massy brand. It’s already being treated as the film’s identity, regardless of the prefix or suffix.

With Coolie now set to clash head-on with War 2 — featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani — every little detail matters. An off-putting Hindi title like Majadoor could have diluted the film’s positioning in North India.

But that’s no longer a concern. The battle lines are officially drawn. It’s Coolie vs War 2 — across all languages, across all screens. The box office is about to witness a war of titans.
