Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections have gone Manchu Vishnu’s way. Even though Megastar Chiranjeevi did not speak about these elections in public, Nagababu TomTomed about Chiranjeevi’s support for Prakash Raj, and now the blame has become inevitable.
Meanwhile, Vishnu had made the humiliation complete saying that Chiranjeevi pressurized him to withdraw. Meanwhile, there is a barrage of publications in media that Chiranjeevi feels betrayed by MAA members because he has done so much for them during the Lockdown.
Chiranjeevi has spearheaded CCC (Corona Crisis Charity) – the Telugu film industry’s Corona Charity fund. Many stars have contributed but then, it went under the umbrella of Chiranjeevi’s Charity Foundation. So, the entire work has gone under a name. “At one stage, there is PR activity as if Chiranjeevi is doing everything,” a producer said.
“The lower strata in MAA is divided just like anywhere in the World. Some believed only Chiranjeevi helped and voted for PR. Some believed but still did not vote. The remaining could not see him getting to Dasari’s Position and also, they believed Chiranjeevi is doing PR work with everybody’s money. So, they voted enmasse to Vishnu,” a source in MAA told us.
Next couple of years, we will see Mohanbabu making an aggressive bid to take that Industry’s Pedda Dhikku position. Mohanbabu is not a soft-spoken person like Chiranjeevi but boasts of contacts. Let us see if the industry will agree!
