Ace film maker Dasari Narayana Rao, the director will be completing 40 years in Tollywood by March 23rd. His first directorial Thatha-Manavadu was released on March 23rd, 1972. The movie went on to receive Nandi award in the Best Feature film category and then there is no looking back for Dasari after that. With his recent release, Parama Veera Chakra, he had completed directing 150 films. In this 40 years journey he had delivered several super hits and had even produced 53 movies on his own banner.

Dasari was an active politician during the time of Rajiv Gandhi. After the leader’s assassination, he planned to start a party called Telugu Thalli. Later, Dasari was elected to the Rajya Sabha. He became the Minister of state in Ministry of Coal. Said to be a confidante of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Dasari once again became active in politics after Congress Party came back to power in 2004.
