Three days have been enough for Korean Kanakaraju to make a massive turnaround at the box office. The Varun Tej-starrer has reached its theatrical breakeven point across all areas, putting the film in a comfortable position as it heads into the crucial days ahead. For the actor and the team, the accomplishment comes as a major relief and a strong validation of their confidence in the project.
The economics of the Merlapaka Gandhi directorial worked in its favour even before the theatrical run gathered momentum. The theatrical market had a breakeven requirement of only around 12 crore. The film has now recovered the required amount in three days, with a worldwide gross of 37.4 Cr+.
More importantly, the trend in ticket sales has been encouraging. Korean Kanakaraju registered better numbers on day 2 than day 1, followed by another jump on day 3. For a theatrical release, this kind of progressive growth is a strong sign that audience acceptance is building organically. The movie is also enjoying a good run in the USA and is close to half a million mark.
With breakeven already achieved, the focus now shifts towards profits. Today’s Bonalu holiday could prove particularly valuable in Telangana, where bookings are showing strong interest.
Varun Tej is back with a bang- the mega hero’s mega blockbuster.
