Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is coming up with a periodic action thriller, Devil. The trailer for the film dropped just a few minutes ago and it gives a clear look at the life of Devil, a British secret agent, played by Kalyan Ram.
The trailer starts with the introduction of Devil and Kalyan Ram looks fitting and suave. The styling suits him well. As expected, there are several action shots featuring him and he is in his element.
The thing that catches the attention right away is the making value. The sets, styling, and overall vibe replicates a proper period aesthetic. Abhishek Nama is known for spending lavishly and he appears to be at it again with Devil. He has directed the film and also produced it.
Samyuktha makes a glamorous appearance and there is oomph facto associated with it. The soundtrack is in sync with the visual. The visual presentation looks slick with grand shots.
The story essentially revolves around a British secret agency, spearheaded by Devil and a mysterious murder that packs unusually high prominence amongst the British folk. The intrigue factor will depend on the tracing and tracking of the culprit. Not often do we see an investigative thriller dating back to the British era and this freshness will work in favor of Devil.
This is a new genre and set-up and the potential is pretty good, given the content is up to it. But for now, the trailer shows good promise. Presenting this complex story on big screens is a challenge, given the multiple layers involved. If this box is ticked, things look bright here. Devil is up for release on 29th December.
