Actor Dhanush is currently enjoying the success of the Bollywood film Tere Ishk Mein. He is now waiting for the release of his upcoming project Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja.
At the same time, Dhanush has already begun pre-production work for his 55th film. This project will be directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and is expected to move forward as planned.
Amid this, strong speculation has emerged involving director Mani Ratnam. Reports suggest that Mani Ratnam narrated a script to Dhanush a few weeks ago, and the actor reportedly liked the story.
However, the project failed to move ahead due to a disagreement over remuneration. As a result, the collaboration between Dhanush and Mani Ratnam did not materialise.
Further reports claim that Mani Ratnam has now decided to make the same film with Vijay Sethupathi. The shooting for this project is expected to begin soon.
The news has triggered mixed reactions among audiences. Some believe Dhanush missed a major opportunity by not collaborating with Mani Ratnam.
They argue that since Dhanush has largely focused on content-driven films in recent years, working with Mani Ratnam would have offered a refreshing change. This is especially because the director reportedly narrated a love story to the actor.
On the other hand, a section of viewers feels Dhanush avoided a potential failure. They pointed to Mani Ratnam’s recent disaster film Thug Life as a reason for concern.
These viewers also noted that Dhanush currently has a strong lineup in Kollywood. They believe he should focus on his announced projects rather than collaborate with what they describe as an outdated director.
Meanwhile, the news surrounding Dhanush and Mani Ratnam has gone viral on social media. Fans and cinema lovers continue to share varied opinions on the reported fallout.
