DJ Tillu turned out to be one of the biggest surprise blockbusters of the year. It came as no surprise when the makers, Sitara Entertainments, announced a sequel, DJ Tillu Square.
But what surprised everyone is the fact that the director of the first part, Vimal Krishna, was replaced by Mallik Ram. There were speculations that all was not well between Vimal Krishna and hero Siddu Jonnalagadda.
There were also some rumors that Vimal Krishna wasn’t too happy that Siddu took all the credit for DJ Tillu’s success which created a rift.
During a recent interview, Vimal Krishna quashed all the rumors saying he had no conflicts with Siddu or the makers. He said that he was not excited about working on the same character once again. He will collaborate with Siddu on a new exciting character and an unexpected storyline.
He added that he is working on some solid scripts and is in talks with some big names for his next.
To be honest, it sounds a bit far-fetched that any director would let go of a chance to direct the sequel of a blockbuster unless there were some differences between him and the team.
Let’s hope director Vimal Krishna delivers another blockbuster with the same impact as DJ Tillu because only then his statements regarding not directing the sequel will sound genuine and credible.
