Nani’s The Paradise is arriving on Netflix on October 22, but the OTT version has one massive and shocking change. Unlike many films that add deleted scenes for their OTT release, The Paradise has reportedly removed 24 minutes of footage.
The film had a theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 54 minutes. However, the Netflix version will run for just 2 hours and 30 minutes. It will stream in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
It seems scenes featuring excessive violence and sequences that slowed down the story have been removed. The makers might have believed the shorter version could make the film more suitable for family audiences. However, another claim doing the rounds is that scenes likely to attract heavy trolling have also been cut. We have to see if the infamous Dhumavathi scene is kept in the film or has been deleted.
The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, failed to meet expectations during its theatrical run. Nani’s aggressive portrayal of Jadal and the film’s violent action sequences received heavy trolling. Some scenes were also slammed for being excessive, while others failed to make the expected impact. Recently, no big film has received this much hate on social media.
Now, the film is heading for another round of scrutiny on OTT. Social media users are already preparing for its digital premiere.
Nani had previously responded to the negativity surrounding the film and attempted to counter it through post-release promotions. However, the Netflix release could bring the film back into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, so Nani must be mentally prepared.
