
“Salaar,” featuring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, recently started streaming on Netflix in four South Indian languages. The response from the OTT audience was better than that from the theatrical audience.
Even the Tamil audience, who intentionally don’t usually encourage Telugu cinema, seems to have taken a liking to Prabhas’ action drama, Salaar. Most of the audience is enjoying the prolonged action sequences mounted on a huge scale.

While a section of the audience says that Salaar doesn’t provide the same level of excitement on OTT as it did in theaters, the majority still love Salaar on Netflix. It can be said that Salaar passed the test on OTT.
“Animal” is soon going to start streaming on Netflix, and there is tremendous anticipation among the digital audience to watch it on OTT. Many are curious to know what the hype was all about and why so many controversies happened after its theatrical release.

In the first few days, it will receive massive viewership, that is a given. But it remains to be seen how the OTT audience responds to “Animal,” especially since many scenes in the second half were criticized for being farcical, and a sense of desperation was observed in the director’s attempt to elevate the hero of the film to a cult-like figure. It would be interesting to witness how the digital audience will react to such scenes.
It will also be interesting to see if Animal’s OTT debut will pose a threat to Salaar’s viewership. The battle for dominance on OTT will unfold once “Animal” is released on Netflix, and it remains to be seen which film will emerge as the OTT winner.
