Fauzi Postponed to December? Will Prabhas Get Sandwiched?

Prabhas Fauzi release date update

In recent times, big budget films locking release dates and then backing out at the last minute has almost become a trend in the industry. Whether it is poor planning or overconfidence, the result is the same. Fans get disappointed, and smaller films are pushed into confusion.

Whenever a big film announces a release date, medium and small films automatically step aside to avoid a clash. But when that big film suddenly postpones at the last moment, it leaves everyone scrambling. This pattern has repeated multiple times, recently with Ram Charan’s Peddi and now it looks like Prabhas’s Fauzi might be the latest example.

Initially expected for a Dussehra release, reports now suggest that Fauzi will not make it to the festival season. The primary reason is the pending shoot and extensive post-production work, especially CGI, which requires significant time. Instead of rushing, the makers are reportedly planning to shift the film to December, aiming for a more comfortable timeline.

December 4 is now being actively considered as the new release date. Interestingly, December’s first week has proven lucky in recent years, with films like Animal, Pushpa 2, and Dhurandhar turning out to be massive blockbusters during that window. The Fauzi team is hoping to replicate that success.

However, the December slot is far from safe this time.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana is expected to release during Diwali in November. If Ramayana clicks with audiences, it could dominate the box office for 6 to 8 weeks, especially in Hindi markets, directly affecting Fauzi’s collections.

Adding to the pressure, Dune 3 is scheduled for December 18. This means Fauzi could get sandwiched between a potentially strong performing Ramayana and a highly anticipated Hollywood release.

On the flip side, if Ramayana underperforms, Fauzi could enjoy a clear two week run from December 4 to December 18. That would give it enough breathing space to capitalize at the box office and turn out to be a big success.

For now, while there is no official confirmation, all signs indicate that Fauzi is stepping away from the Dussehra race. The final call will depend on production timelines and strategic calculations.
