Piracy has always been a primary cause of concern for the Telugu film industry on multiple levels. But the situation is deteriorating beyond the threshold point now.
Recently, in the case of Game Changer, the film arrived on piracy websites, just a couple of days after the release. The HD version was released in the parallel week itself.

Now, in the case of Thandel, a similar situation is being observed. As shocking as it may sound, the film has arrived on piracy websites right on the very day of the release.
People are commenting that the piracy version is not any ordinary one either as the film appears to be streaming in HD on piracy sites.

Actually, this situation was prevalent in the film industry for a while now. However, there was a substantial slowdown in this piracy culture after the Covid pandemic. This gave filmmakers some breathing space.
But shockingly again now, the situation is back to square one as piracy sites are dropping new theatrical releases on their sites right on the very day of the release.

In the case of Game Changer, the piracy affected the film very much in terms of theatrical returns. The piracy was a hugely detrimental factor for this film.
Now, as the situation is being observed with Thandel again. The film has now arrived on piracy websites and these links are being shared extensively on social media.
It is high time that Tollywood film makers, take up this matter very seriously and come up with adequate solution.
Dealing with the piracy sites at a technical level is very tough, considering that they have been around for a long time and know the escape routes. Some sort of middle Ground must be found with them through one means or another.
