SRK and Rajkumar Hirani – These names alone are enough to push the Hindi audience into overdrive and fill theaters. But sadly in the case of low-buzzed Dunki, it isn’t working. The film is struggling to hold its ground in its home ground – Hindi market, according to the online ticketing trends.
In many mass belts across North – Odisha, Ranchi, Kolkata, Rajkot, and others, Salaar is dominating Dunki in terms of occupancies.
There are also reports that a sizable portion of Dunki’s screens are now being pushed to Salaar given the comparatively higher public interest. The fact that Salaar is dominating SRK’s film in his own home ground in itself is staggering.
Salaar is likely to open in the range of Rs 15+ crores in the Hindi belt and we have to see how the upward trend goes over the weekend. If Salaar can continue this push and dominate Dunki over the weekend, and also post increasing revenues in the Hindi belt, then this will mean a mighty deal.
Once we compare the Day 2 and Day 1 collections of Dunki and Salaar and then the Day 3 and Day 2 collections, we will get a clear look of this trend. Stay tuned as M9 will be posting comprehensive reports on the same over the weekend.
