There are certain guidelines for airing sexually explicit material on television channels and Advertising Standard Council of India had inked down them. Recently, it’s found out that Manforce condom advertisement featuring Sunny Leone in an explicit seductress avatar is being aired during the prime time.

The prime time hours mean, between 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some condom brands aren’t following the guidelines because they are playing safe with the words ‘indecent’ and ‘sexually explicit’ content. The guidelines are confusing and there is no authority to decide whether the condom ads playing during the prime time feature sexually explicit content or not.
This has become a major concern in the wake of the growing incidents of sexual harassment, eve teasing and rapes across the country. Releasing the indecent content during the prime time when families watch the programmes with their kids may lead horrendous consequences if left unchecked. What’s your opinion on Sunny Leone’s ad?
