Tamil actress Anjena Kriti had been in Japan shooting for a Tamil movie ‘Jumbo 3D’, which is an Indo-Japanese collaboration project . When she got some leisure time off, Anjena came out for shopping to a mall and lost her way back to hotel. She misplaced the address of the hotel but found one of the Japanese taxi drivers talking to her in Tamil who helped her to find her way back.
After Rajnikanth’s ‘Muthu’ saw its way to Japan, Japanese audiences couldn’t have enough of Rajnikanth, dancing for his popular song ‘Thillana Thillana’. Since then Rajnikanth enjoys a solid fan base in Japan and many of his films get dubbed into Japanese and score roaring success over there. And hence to find Tamil speaking Rajnikanth’s fans in Japan will not come as a big surprise.
Anjena Kriti feels at home in Japan because of the hospitality she received from Tokyo Tamil Sangam founded by producer Hari. But of course finding Japanese taxi drivers speaking Tamil is a big thing to reminisce. Superstar Rajnikanth’s stardom surpassed inter and intra continental barriers long back.
