Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is getting bigger with every update. After reports confirmed that Hrithik Roshan would be making a special appearance in the film, fresh details from the sets suggest that this is far more than a blink-and-miss cameo.
According to industry sources, director Nelson Dilipkumar has designed a larger-than-life role for Hrithik Roshan, complete with a powerful introduction sequence and a major combination scene with Rajinikanth. The episode reportedly comes at a crucial point in the story and plays a key role in taking the narrative forward.
Hrithik recently wrapped up his portions during a two-day schedule in Chennai on June 22 and 23.
Sources claim the actor will be seen in a completely new look, which the makers have kept under wraps. Tight security and a strict no-phone policy were reportedly enforced throughout the shoot to prevent leaks.
According to insiders, Nelson has designed Hrithik’s entry as a full-fledged whistle-worthy moment, with the kind of elevation scenes that audiences usually expect from mass entertainers.
But perhaps the most heartwarming part of the shoot happened off-camera.
Jailer 2 marks the reunion of Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan after nearly 40 years. The two first shared screen space in Bhagwaan Dada (1986), where a young Hrithik appeared as a child actor alongside the Superstar.
Sources reveal that Hrithik sought Rajinikanth’s blessings by touching his feet before the shoot began. Despite being one of India’s biggest stars today, Hrithik was reportedly nervous before giving his first shot alongside Rajinikanth.
The two actors also spent time between takes reminiscing about Bhagwaan Dada, discussing cinema, and catching up on their personal lives. Rajinikanth reportedly enquired about Hrithik’s sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan, making the reunion even more special.
The first Jailer became a blockbuster partly because of its surprise appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff. It now appears Nelson is planning to go one step further by adding Hrithik Roshan to the mix.
Whether the cameo lives up to the enormous hype remains to be seen.
