Prabhas is the biggest crowd puller in Indian cinema at the moment with several big league hits to his name. In fact, Rs 500 crore grossers have become very standard for him these days.
His last film Kalki reportedly collected in upwards of Rs 1000 crores which is his second such film after Baahubali 2.
Coming to the topic now, the target for Prabhas’s next with Maruthi will not even be half of what Kalki did. That being said, even if the film does Rs 300 crore gross globally, it could be said that Prabhas is the box office king of India.
Director Maruthi is an able filmmaker but he isn’t a market commanding individual. He is an unknown deal in non Telugu markets. The casting is also going to be regular ones, it appears.
The usage of VFX might also be of a standard degree unlike Baahubalis and Kalkis, though the production values are bound to be good with People Media Factory funding it.
Hence, every single rupee that Raja Saab collects can be attributed directly to Prabhas, and that too with no other contributing factors. If he can hit anything above 300 – 400 crore with this product, then it would ultimately mean mighty big at the box office.
