There has been a lot of hue and cry over reviews and reviewers in general in Telugu cinema recently. Allu Arjun started it with DJ, and other stars continued it further. A similar case was seen in Malayalam recently with a biggie.

Director, B Unnikrishnan of the recently release Villain, says that there are no good reviewers in the industry currently and the ones present are either paid or have no knowledge. He quoted few reviews directly on Television and bashed them openly for their lack of knowledge. The director feels if Villain was made by someone else, it would have been judged differently and hailed as a classic.
Villain was a biggie in Malayalam which brought forth names like Mohan Lal, and Vishal together for the first time. There were huge expectations, but the film failed to meet them with the reviews turning out to be a huge put-off.
