Prashanth Neel is taking a different approach to action in Dragon, starring NTR. According to action director Chethan D’Souza, the film will focus on realistic and convincing action rather than the usual high-octane fights and exaggerated hero moments.
He says NTR’s action sequences will be grounded, with the aim of creating mass moments through realistic fights. The team is reportedly avoiding flying bodies, excessive slow-motion shots and larger-than-life action blocks.
Interestingly, Chethan also brought Prabhas into the discussion while explaining this approach. He suggested that the exaggerated action style and larger-than-life presentation work particularly well with a star like Prabhas.
This indicates that Dragon will not simply follow the action template seen in Salaar or other Prashanth Neel films. Instead, the director appears to be building an action style that suits NTR and the character he plays.
After multiple delays, Dragon is currently targeting a June 2027 release. With the combination of Prashanth Neel and NTR, expectations are massive. The biggest curiosity now is how the director will balance grounded action with the mass moments audiences expect from an NTR film.
