Irumudi: Dulquer Salmaan Gives Ravi Teja Big Advantage?

Ravi Teja's Irumudi gets release advantage

August is turning out to be a packed month for Telugu theatres. Several films have already arrived, and the coming weeks are also loaded with releases. Among the eagerly awaited films is Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, which is gearing up for a grand release on August 21.

But the film was initially facing competition from Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, which was scheduled to arrive in Telugu on August 20. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa is also in the same release window, making the week even more crowded.

Now, I’m Game has reportedly been postponed.

The biggest issue appears to be that the film’s post-production work is yet to be fully completed. More importantly, the Telugu version has not created much buzz so far. There has barely been any promotional activity, and the film has not managed to generate the kind of curiosity needed for a Telugu release.

I’m Game was never looking like a big threat to Ravi Teja in the Telugu states. However, had the film arrived on time and received strong word of mouth after its release, it could have created unnecessary competition for Irumudi during the crucial opening days.

With I’m Game apparently moving out, Irumudi gets some breathing room.

The Ravi Teja starrer is already carrying decent expectations, and with a packed August release calendar, avoiding one more competing film could prove beneficial.
