Siddu Jonnalagadda’s Telusu Kada is set to release for Diwali, and the team recently held a trailer launch with the usual Q&A for Telugu media. During the session, a lady journalist asked a question referencing his character, specifically asking, “Is Siddhu a womanizer?” That part of the question quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread debate.
One should really appreciate the way Siddhu Jonnalagadda handled the question-by simply ignoring it. Not everyone can do that, and Siddhu is one hero who has consistently proven he’s capable of doing so.
Many social media users criticized Telugu journalists for the kind of questions being asked at press meets. There are two sides to this. On one hand, journalists should maintain decorum and know their limits when framing questions. On the other, some film production teams deliberately encourage provocative questions, believing that any buzz keeps the film alive in public discussion.
Regarding social media reactions, many who attacked the journalist for asking the question appear toxic and abusive in their own posts. Yet, these same users often try to lecture Telugu media about professionalism. Because of this behavior, their voices lose credibility.
The takeaway is simple: journalists should uphold decorum when asking questions. At the same time, anyone criticizing them publicly must behave decently online if they want to be taken seriously. Without that balance, neither side earns respect.
