The most anticipated first single of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, titled Ala Bolelo and composed by Anirudh Ravichander was released recently and is going viral on social media with mixed reviews from the audience.
Since Anirudh’s masterclass compositions were a major reason for the massive success of the original Jailer and because he has set the bar high whenever collaborating with Rajinikanth, many people believed that the first single of Jailer 2 would be a solid composition and emerge as a viral hit.
However, it seems to have ended up as a disappointment. Many listeners, after hearing Ala Bolelo claim that the song does not sound interesting and feels like a very average composition from Anirudh.
They suggest that Anirudh composing such a weak song for his idol Rajinikanth and that too for a major project with the potential to become Kollywood’s first 1000 crore grosser is very disappointing.
Before the release of Ala Bolelo, many expected it to be a viral song similar to Kaavaalaa from the original Jailer, but Ala Bolelo was not even close to it, leading many to claim it is Anirudh‘s weakest song in recent times.
Additionally, because all 15 tracks he composed for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s recently released DC were viral hits and the major highlight of the film, many believed Anirudh was in the prime phase of his career and would deliver a bang-on first single for Jailer 2. However, the majority of people were disappointed with Ala Bolelo.
Meanwhile, a few people suggest that Ala Bolelo is a unique attempt and because it is completely fresh and different, many are writing it off as an average song. They believe that Ala Bolelo might still become a viral hit and gain appreciation after multiple listens.
Ultimately, with mixed reviews for the first single, it remains to be seen whether Anirudh will prove his potential with the upcoming tracks and background score in Jailer 2.
