Following the failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth is acting in the lead role of the highly anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. A few weeks ago, the makers of Jailer 2 confirmed that the shooting of the film had wrapped by posting images from the wrap party.
In this scenario, now there is strong speculation that after watching the rough cut of the film, the makers were disappointed. Consequently, they are planning a 25-day reshoot. If the speculation proves true, the release of Jailer 2 might be delayed and the film will only be released by the end of this year. This speculation has shocked the Kollywood audience because, until now, every insider report regarding Jailer 2 had been positive.
However, in response to this speculation, some trackers on social media are clarifying that reshoots are a common phenomenon in Hollywood, whereas they are often treated as a taboo in Indian cinema. They claim that it is better to spend a little more time filming than to deliver a weak film.
Meanwhile, some sources claim that the rumors regarding the reshoots are completely fake and that the filming now taking place for Jailer 2 involves the inclusion of a pan-Indian star’s cameo portion. They also confirm that the film will hit the screens in October.
They suggest that initially, the Jailer 2 team planned for a cameo role featuring Shah Rukh Khan. However, the star stepped out of the project due to his commitments with King. Therefore, the makers are now shooting those pending portions, originally planned for Shah Rukh Khan, with another pan-Indian star.
Ultimately, all of these are just social media speculations and there have been no official updates from the makers of Jailer 2 regarding a delay due to reshoots. Hence, it remains to be seen whether the Jailer 2 team performs a reshoot and delays the film’s release or if the film will be released in October or September as planned without any future delays.
