Jailer: Dilemma of High Expectations

Superstar Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” is set to release on August 10, and the expectations are skyrocketing.

The unrealistic hype is primarily due to a chartbuster song, a captivating trailer, and a star-studded cast including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Ramya Krishna.

Even though the director Nelson’s last film was a disaster, his name adds to the hype.

Anirudh Ravichander, a buzzing name right now, delivering a high-octane background score further elevated the expectations.

While the hype boosts excellent advance bookings for Jailer, there are fears about setting such high expectations for a senior star’s film, which may work against it. Let’s hope that won’t be the case when Jailer hits the screens.
