Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9th. With only a few days remaining, the team has intensified promotions. However, the absence of advance bookings has raised concerns among fans.
Strong speculation suggests that Jana Nayagan is facing delays in receiving its censorship certificate. Due to this, bookings have reportedly not opened at multiplexes in several centres. This delay has sparked online discussions and uncertainty around the release.
As per reports, the film was submitted for censorship in December and screened on December 19th. The Censor Board allegedly asked the makers to remove certain scenes and mute some dialogues to secure a U/A certificate instead of an A.
Although the team is said to have implemented the suggested changes, the certificate has reportedly not been issued yet. This has directly affected the opening of bookings in most locations, adding to the growing speculation.
Amid this, several Vijay fans have expressed frustration on social media. Without clarity on the delay, they have criticised the Jana Nayagan team for poor planning, arguing that the film should have been submitted earlier to avoid last-minute issues.
Since Jana Nayagan is Vijay’s final film, fans believe the actor deserves a memorable farewell. They feel that mismanagement is overshadowing what should have been a landmark release in his career.
That said, all these claims remain speculative as there has been no official statement from the makers. It remains to be seen whether Jana Nayagan will receive clearance soon and release smoothly on January 9th as planned.
