For the past few days, strong speculation suggested that the CBFC Revising Committee would watch Jana Nayagan soon. Many expected the censor certificate to be issued before the weekend. This created hope that the makers would announce a new release date shortly.
Recent updates indicate that the scheduled screening did not happen as planned. Sources claim the CBFC Revising Committee screening set for 2:00 PM today was cancelled. The postponement reportedly occurred because one CBFC member was unwell.
The update triggered a sharp reaction from Vijay’s fans online. Several fans claimed that the CBFC board is delaying the release of Jana Nayagan intentionally. Social media discussions around the issue have grown rapidly.
Fans also pointed out that the Jana Nayagan team had withdrawn their legal case earlier. The film was then submitted to the Revising Committee to avoid further complications. Despite this step, the certification process has still not been completed.
