Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, has finally released in theatres today and is receiving mixed responses from audiences and critics.
Although everyone knows the fact that Jana Nayagan is an official remake of Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari, since it is the farewell film of actor Vijay, many people expected that Jana Nayagan would be a proper commercial entertainer taking only inspiration from Bhagavanth Kesari.
However, it ended up as a terrible disappointment for Kollywood audiences. Many viewers, after watching the film, are now suggesting on social media that even though H Vinoth made some changes from Bhagavanth Kesari’s original story, Jana Nayagan offers nothing new and is just an outdated film.
They have also started suggesting that H Vinoth return to the zone that gave films like Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. They feel that those films showcased him as a promising director. However, his recent commercial ventures with big stars, including the recently released Jana Nayagan, have been a terrible disappointment. Hence, they claim that, at least from now on, H Vinoth should quit doing star actor films and start working on his strengths to make a comeback with his upcoming projects.
Meanwhile, only a few Vijay fans are sharing positive responses for Jana Nayagan, stating that although it has some flaws, it is a proper fan-service film for Vijay and a decent outing from the director.
Nonetheless, H Vinoth has not yet announced his next project and it remains to be seen how he is going to shape his lineup further and whether the director will make a comeback with his upcoming films.
