It is known that senior actor Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha are not in the best of terms with Chiranjeevi.
There was a public feud between them in the past. The couple even alleged that Chiranjeevi blood bank was selling the blood that was donated by commoners. A defamation case was filed against them for the same by Allu Aravind.
Cut to now, the 17th additional chief Metropolitan magistrates has sentenced Jeevitha and Rajasekhar to 1 year jail term. The order was passed yesterday and it came to light on Wednesday.
The court also ordered them to pay Rs 5 lakh in the defamation case for making such allegations in the Chiranjeevi blood bank without any proof.
The court granted the couple a bail effective immediately and they can challenge their jail term in the higher courts.
The couple made the allegation back in 2011 and the case was filed then. After 12 long years, the verdict is out.
