Regarding the investigation of actress Jiah Khan’s suicide, new facts that had turned up had incriminated ex-boyfriend Suraj Pancholi, son to Aditya Pancholi. Pancholi was then taken in by Mumbai police for interrogation. Furthermore, it has come to light by way of Suraj’s confession that he had beaten up his girlfriend Jiah following a fight in Goa eight months ago. After this incident, jiah took the extreme step of attempted suicide by slitting her wrist.

As for the actions against Pancholi, Suraj has been sent to jail till June 27 with the charges laid on him of abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide. But even as Suraj’s lawyer stated shortly after the court’s sentence that he would move a bail plea in the Sessions court, the police is considering adding another charge under Section 498-A (harassment of a woman by husband or in-laws) of IPC against Pancholi.
