Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has remained one of the most discussed public figures in the state since assuming office. However, he has now found himself at the center of a fresh controversy following serious allegations made by television actress Julie.
Julie, who had openly campaigned against Vijay during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, claims she has been facing relentless online harassment from a section of his supporters ever since. According to her, the abuse has turned into a sustained campaign of trolling, personal attacks, and defamatory allegations.
Speaking to the media recently, Julie said that the situation became so severe that she filed a police complaint in March against several individuals allegedly involved in the harassment.
“Terrible trolling is happening against me on social media. The harassment crossed all limits, and I filed a police complaint against some people in March itself. They are also spreading allegations that I was involved in a Rs. 15 lakh kidney scam. Some people are trying to drag me into one case or another,” she said.
Julie further alleged that the continuous online attacks had a devastating impact on her mental health and personal life.
According to her, the stress and emotional trauma caused by the trolling affected her severely. In an emotional statement, she claimed that she ultimately lost her unborn child during this difficult period.
Julie stated that while Vijay may not have been directly involved in the alleged harassment, she believes he bears indirect responsibility for what she has been experiencing. “Not directly, but indirectly, Vijay has a role in this,” she alleged.
Her comments have quickly sparked intense debate across social media and Tamil political circles. Supporters of Vijay have strongly rejected the allegations, while others have called for a more serious discussion about online harassment and the responsibility of public figures to discourage abusive behavior among supporters.
At the same time, it is important to note that Vijay and his party have not issued any official response to Julie’s allegations so far. Additionally, no independent evidence has publicly emerged to substantiate her claims.
