Jyothika has a career spanning over 2 decades in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and other industries. She entered Bollywood with Doli Saja Ke rakhna in 1998 but found immense success with South Indian films like Kushi, Chandramukhi, Mozhi etc.
Any wise person would consider her a successful actress in her own lane. But the sexist outlook of the world limits her to the stature of her husband Suriya.
Jyothika herself opened about the whole issue recently. She married the Tamil superstar Suriya in 2006 and took a break from films for a while, however she returned to her successful career from 2015 onwards.
Opening about the sexism in the industry she shared that the tag of “Suriya’s wife” never leaves her. Despite having a positive marriage she wishes to be known based on her own success.
Often her financial achievements like buying a car are associated with him even if she is buying it with her own hard earned money. As a woman all these things must really bother her and one can only hope that people try to change their outlook.
