Kalki 2898 AD emerged as a successful venture for Prabhas and featured several prominent actors. Among them was Disha Patani. Her presence in the film, however, sparked unexpected reactions from audiences after its theatrical release.
Many viewers assumed Disha Patani would have at least a small supporting role. Instead, she appeared only in the commercial track Ta Takkara. She was largely absent from the main narrative, which led to disappointment among sections of the audience.
Following the release of Kalki 2898 AD, Disha Patani faced heavy trolling on social media. Her appearance in the song did not receive much appreciation. Online users turned her limited role into a recurring joke across platforms.
Now, attention has shifted to Kalki 2. The sequel is expected to feature a stronger storyline and deeper character arcs. Disha Patani recently revealed that her role in the second instalment will be more substantial compared to the first film.
“In the first part, I had a song. But in the sequel, I have mostly talkie portions with key actors,” said Disha Patani in a recent interview. She added that her screen time will be significantly higher in Kalki 2.
With these statements, anticipation around her role has increased. It remains to be seen whether Kalki 2 will offer her a meaningful character arc. Audiences are now waiting to find out if she can silence critics with a stronger performance.
