After the poor failure of Vaa Vaathiyaar, Karthi is now playing the lead role in Marshal, directed by Tamizh. The film is planned for a worldwide theatrical release this Diwali.
At the same time, Karthi has completed shooting for his anticipated sequel Sardar 2. However, due to reported financial issues, there is still no clarity regarding its release date.
Karthi has not officially announced his next project after Marshal. Still, strong industry speculation suggests he may collaborate with Telugu director Boyapati Srinu for a bilingual film.
This rumour has triggered reactions from Karthi’s fans on social media. Many fans believe working with Boyapati Srinu could be a wrong move at this stage of his career.
Some users claim Boyapati Srinu is outdated and struggling to deliver success. They point to his recent film Akhanda 2 Thaandavam, which they say received trolling online.
Fans also note that Karthi is currently facing a difficult phase. His last film Vaa Vaathiyaar underperformed, while one of his expected projects is still waiting for release.
