Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was adamant about relocating the existing Secretariat to a new location. But KCR is still unable to decide up on the new location. First he had chosen, Erragadda Chest hospital, then Secunderabad Parade grounds and now the 60-acre Bison polo ground at Bolarum. However this land belongs to defence and is not easy to be acquired as it require several permissions from the Central government.

On Thursday, KCR personally met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and requested him to clear all the frills in acquiring the land. He promised to compensate for the land from the land bank of the state government at an alternative site. However Parrikar did not give any assurance but promised to look in to the issue.
Already Telangana government is facing several issues with defence regarding digging lands in Cantonment for laying pipelines to bring Godavari water from Ellampalli reservoir in Karimnagar. Defence is holding up the permissions to take up road widening in defence area along the highway to Karimnagar for a long time. We will have to see if the Center clears this proposal or Telangana government will have to look for a fourth option.
