The sequel to Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan is in the making and it will be far better than the previous film, says the film’s co-producer Murali, who admits the film has not done as well as expected in the north Indian belt. Nonetheless, he is confident that the team will work harder on its sequel.
He said we did what we could, given restrictions of time and budget. I agree we could’ve done a lot better. We will work much harder on the sequel to ‘Kochadaiiyaan’. While Tamil version managed to rake in the moolah, the Telugu and Hindi versions turned out to be disastrous. Recovery of investment in Hindi would take longer than the makers expected. But they’re confident of getting back the investments.
The film was made on a budget of INR 125 crore and it managed to register a bumper opening of about INR 40 crore and is expected to be doing good business in the market.
