Krithi Shetty emerged as a fresh breath of air in Tollywood with her debut film Uppena. Apart from the music, Krithi Shetty was the USP of that film which impressed the audience with her cute looks and extremely expressive eyes. The film was a blockbuster, and she became a star overnight.
Krithi bagged many offers after Uppena, but none of them could repeat the magic of Uppena. Shyam Singha Roy and Bangarraju were mildly successful, but Krithi Shetty’s performance wasn’t any great shakes.
She then delivered a hattrick of disasters with The Warriorr, Macherla Niyojakavargam, and Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, putting her career in the doldrums.
Now she is coming up with Custody, and she desperately needs this movie to be successful. The film is touted to be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller, and rarely do actresses get a plum role in such films. Not much can be expected from Krithi in terms of performance, but if the film becomes a hit, it will be a big relief to her struggling career.
Because of the non-performance of her films, not many films are being offered to her of late. Producers who used to line up to sign her are now thinking twice about taking her in their movies. After Custody, there aren’t any films in her kitty except one Malayalam film, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, opposite Tovino Thomas.
Krithi Shetty has the looks and talent to become a top heroine in Tollywood, but due to the wrong choice of roles and films, her career is coming to a standstill. Let’s hope Custody works not only for Naga Chaitanya but also for Krithi Shetty and breaks her flop streak.
