Kuberaa Box Office

Sekhar Kammula directed Telugu–Tamil bilingual Kuberaa has started its theatrical run on a strong note, grossing an impressive 16 crore on its opening day in India.

Starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna, the film now marks the actor’s biggest opener to date, surpassing Raayan’s 16.50 crore day-one release in 2024. With an additional 9 crore from overseas, Kuberaa’s worldwide day-one total stands at 25-26 crores.

The Telugu version led the charge, raking in around 10 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, reflecting the extremely positive talk in those markets.

The Tamil version grossed 4.25 crore, which is below expectations for a Dhanush film in Tamil Nadu. That said, it’s still a respectable figure, especially after the initial trade predictions were quite low.

The Hindi and Kannada dubbed versions have flopped badly, though the film posted relatively better numbers in Karnataka.

Despite its reported 125 crore production cost, Kuberaa has already locked significant non-theatrical revenue, including an OTT deal estimated between 45–50 crores.

However, theatrical collections will still play a crucial role, as the film needs to gross around 125 crores worldwide to turn profitable for its distributors and producers.

With the Telugu box office facing a dry spell since Sankranti 2025, Kuberaa has emerged as a much-needed bright spot.

While it’s too early to call it a hit, the film’s promising start and positive word of mouth suggest it may hold strong in the coming days. However, there is still a long way to go to reach 125 crores worldwide gross.

The industry is watching closely, as Kuberaa could revive momentum in an otherwise sluggish phase for Telugu cinema.
